Andres Iniesta: Fabregas told me how close the Arsenal fans are to his heart.
Spain and Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta believes Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will stay with the Gunners for at least one more season.
Speaking about his Spanish team mate, the 26-year old confirmed what other Barcelona players declared before him and that is how Fabregas’ desire is to move back to Spain and play for the Blaugrana. Iniesta, however, explained how the Arsenal captain loves the club and loves the fans, reason why he deserves to win the Premiership title.
According to reports, the 23-year old will be leaving Arsenal next season and for Iniesta it would be a shame if he is to leave with nothing to show for.
The Barcelona midfielder added how Fabregas is capable of carrying a team on his own, just like Lionel Messi and how he hopes to see him fulfill his dream of winning in England, with Arsenal, as it would be a fantastic achievement for him as a player and his club.
He said:
Cesc wants to be with us, but he told me how close the Arsenal fans are to his heart.
He is a special player and I hope he wins the title at Arsenal this season. For them to win Cesc will have to stay fit and injury-free but he deserves to finish with a title.
For all the work and effort he has put in at Arsenal it would be a shame if it was all fruitless.
I have seen time after time Lionel Messi win games for Barcelona when the rest of the team have not been on form and Cesc can do that for Arsenal this season.
Cesc is such a special player that he could carry a team to the title on his own and I hope he does it this coming season.
It would be brilliant if Arsenal’s hero could lift the title as captain during his last season. I think that it would be fantastic for everybody.

Stekelenburg? Just a rumour at the moment:
The search for new Arsenal keeper continues with Maarten Stekelenburg possible bargain.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is still looking to bring in a new goalkeeper, with Ajax stopper Maarten Stekelenburg the latest target for the Gunners.
The 27-year-old was a solid presence between the sticks for Holland as they progressed to this summer's World Cup final. Stekelenburg has been at Ajax since 2001 and although the Dutch giants may not have to sell star striker Luis Suarez, coach Martin Jol may have to offload other players including the goalkeeper.
Arsenal are assumed to be hotly pursuing a solid and experienced goalkeeper, following the unreliable form of Manuel Almunia and the error-prone performances of Lukasz Fabianski . Although the Gunners have high hopes for young Polish stopper Wojciech Szczesny , Wenger is looking for a more experienced alternative in the meantime.
37-year-old Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has been rumoured to be on the verge of a deal to join Arsenal for £4million. However, the News of the World claims that Stekelenburg, ten years Schwarzer's junior, would be available for a similar fee.

Arsene Wenger is reported to be considering an offer for Japanese superstar Keisuke Honda who has also attracted interest from Liverpool in the past.
The 24-year-old CSKA Moscow striker has been the subject of increasing speculation since his successful World Cup campaign with Japan, and a move to the Premier League appears to be on the cards.
Honda started his career at Gamba Osaka, the same club as former Arsenal player Junichi Inamoto, before moving onto Nagoya Grampus Eight, the club Wenger coached before joining the Gunners in 1996.
Honda’s agent Kees Ploegsma told Sport.co.uk: “A few clubs have contacted me about the situation and asked me questions about Keisuke but no club has made a serious offer for him. No one has contacted the club to make a formal offer.
As for suggestions that Arsenal and LIverpool were leading the chase, Ploegsma stressed:
“Liverpool have not been in contact regarding him.”

CESC FABREGAS will not be bullied by Barcelona into handing in a written transfer request to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
Barcelona are becoming increasingly desperate in their attempt to land Fabregas after Arsenal rejected a £30million offer and refused to negotiate.Fabregas told Wenger of his desire to quit the Emirates for a return to the Nou Camp in a face-to-face meeting ahead of the World Cup.
Barca believe a written transfer request may force the Gunners to relent. Despite still wanting to rejoin Barca, however, Fabregas is not willing to show Arsenal any disrespect and believes a written transfer request would be a step too far.
With it looking increasingly likely he will have to stick with the Gunners for at least another year, sources close to Fabregas have told him not to burn his bridges and make a return to the Emirates for the coming season uncomfortable.
He is due back at Arsenal next week after being granted extended leave, along with fellow World Cup finalist Robin van Persie. And Wenger has warned that it may take Spain international Fabregas and Holland striker Van Persie until September to start reproducing their best form.
Wenger, though, believes the omission of Theo Walcott and Samir Nasri from the England and France World Cup squads will work to his side’s advantage. “Walcott and Nasri are certainly highly motivated,” said Wenger. “They recovered well from the disappointment and the best answer is always to show how hungry you are on the pitch.”

Wenger is desperate to sign Schwarzer, 37, to take over as his first-choice shot-stopper for next season - but had an initial approach turned down by the Cottagers last month.
However, in a renewed bid to prize the Australian away from west London, the Frenchman is prepared to offer his target a dual role within his staff - regular first-team football as well as the chance to work alongside existing goalkeeping coach Gerry Peyton. Wenger's tireless pursuit of Schwarzer is already causing some unrest among his existing keepers - with Almunia already thought to be considering his options in light of the speculation.
Given the ages of the other custodians on the Gunners' books - Lukasz Fabianski, 25; Vito Mannone, 22; and Wojciech Szczesny, 20 - they all see a future with the club.
But 31-year-old Almunia is certain to seek first-team football elsewhere as he approaches the autumn of his career.
Almunia missed Arsenal's opening pre-season game against Barnet at the weekend, which Wenger attributed to 'illness'.
However, sources close to the club suggest that - despite Almunia going on the team's pre-season training camp in Austria - he is edging closer to the door at the Emirates Stadium, and will leave if Schwarzer is brought in. |
