Poor Quality, Poor Performances, Poor all round.

wenger_frustratedI have not witnessed teams target an Arsenal weakness since Luton done it against us when Gus Caesar was playing right back in the Littlewoods cup in 1988  and we now have a terminal weakness  that is costing us goals or games like Chelsea, Everton, Bolton and now United twice to name just a few.

Team know how to beat us, its easy all you do is put a decent winger on and get them to counter attack down  the right flank and they know they will meet no resistance at all from the Arsenal left back. Traore was a disaster and Clichy is too error prone to stop it happening either and today two goals were directly because of the weakness from this position and Nani had a field day.

There were so many poor individual performances throughout the team today and we were second best for most of the match. Almunia needs to be dropped and an in form keeper put in has place.

Mannone also makes mistakes as well I know, but at least he is a lucky keeper and I would rather have a lucky one that an unlucky one I know that for sure.

Rooney declared after the match that is was United’s best display of the season, why oh why cant Arsene ever say that after we have played a team above us, why cant we ever produce a performance like that when it is most needed?

I suppose I am just frustrated at the moment but don’t forget we sacrificed the FA Cup for the matches against Villa and United as well the next three against Chelsea Porto and Liverpool and to see it all go down the plug hole in 90 minutes as really sapping.

andrey 2Arsene promised us silverware this season and in reality unless United and Chelsea draw each other in the Champions League and then the winner of that tie gets knocked out by someone else we are not going to win it this year either leaving us trophy-less for the fifth season in succession.

This means that next season with the first trophy not available to be won until March, Arsene Wenger during the 2010-11 season will be the tipping point that will have seen Arsene Wenger as manager of Arsenal, will have been there longer as an unsuccessful manager than a successful one if you measure success by silverware of course.

The days of Pires, Henry, Vieira, Bergkamp are long gone and yet I was watching the game today desperate to see the likes of those types of players back in Wengers favour instead of his ethos of small technical players.

There is something fundamentally wrong with the team and the whole squad, I don’t know what it is but it is lacking quality, belief, and spirit when it really matters and the answer is not something that can be found coming through the youth squad either.

Arsene Wenger keeps telling us that there are not any players better than the players he has so he will not buy anyone with his £30 million, well I saw 11 players wearing United shirts today and 8 of those players would have bettered what I witnessed in the Arsenal shirts today.

Arsene said he hated the headlines after United beat us in the Champions League Semi Final last year when it was headlined ‘MEN AGAINST BOYS’ well we had the same again today , we were so poor that it hard to believe that we actually managed to score the goal that we did.

Rooney was top top drawer today and his performance was everything that we were not and Arsene should show his display at the match debrief on Monday at the training ground.

Although was are not mathematically out of the title race we are actually light years away from bettering Chelsea or United if they carry on playing they way they did tonight and unless there is more belief then this season will pale into mediocrity just like the match performance from most of the Arsenal players did today.
